Which devices does Memora support?
Memora runs on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Silicon Mac running iOS / iPadOS / macOS 26.2 or later. An Apple Watch companion is available for quick capture.
Does Memora need an account or internet connection?
No. There is no Memora account and no sign-up. Recording, transcription, summaries, and search all run on-device, so Memora works fully offline. An internet connection is only used if you opt into iCloud sync or an optional cloud AI model.
Where are my recordings stored?
Everything — audio, transcripts, entries, and the search index — is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, it travels through your own Apple ID, end-to-end encrypted; Memora never sees the contents.
How do I export my data?
Open Settings → Export in the app. Memora produces a zip containing every audio file plus your entries as both JSON and Markdown, so your archive is always portable and yours.
How do I delete my data?
You can delete individual entries at any time, or use Settings → Delete All Data to wipe everything. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing to delete on our side.
Microphone or speech recognition isn’t working — what should I do?
Memora needs microphone and speech-recognition permission. Open iOS Settings → Memora and make sure both are enabled. If transcription still fails, restart the app and confirm your device has free storage for the on-device model.
How does the optional cloud model work?
By default the AI runs entirely on-device. If you choose to enable a cloud model, requests go directly to the provider you select using your own API key, under that provider’s terms — and only the content needed for the request you trigger is sent.
